Jersey Water Works
New Jersey’s aging and degraded drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure faces a multi-billion-dollar price-tag to fix.
Recognizing that no one organization can solve complex problems alone, Jersey Water Works facilitates collaboration across sectors to transform New Jersey’s inadequate water infrastructure through sustainable, cost-effective solutions that provide communities with clean water and waterways; healthier, safer neighborhoods; local jobs; flood and climate resilience; and economic growth.
Christie Whitman serves as honorary co-chair of the Jersey Water Works collaborative along with former Gov. James Florio. Her early leadership in shaping the guiding principles for the Agenda for Change set the groundwork for the formation of the Jersey Water Works collaborative.
Jane Kenny serves as co-chair of the Steering Committee along with Mark Mauriello of Edgewood Properties, which leads the Jersey Water Works collaborative. New Jersey Future provides administrative support.
Jersey Water Works, and its shared goals established by collaborative members, launched at the inaugural New Jersey Urban Water Conference held on Dec. 10 2015 in Newark. The Jersey Water Works committees, including Best Practices, Municipal Outreach, Community Engagement, Finance and Green Infrastructure are actively working on advancing their yearly objectives and longer term goals.
The Whitman Strategy Group is proud to help lead the collaborative and its members on transforming New Jersey’s water infrastructure.
